Itinerary

Day One Arrival

After we arrive and settle, we’ll take some time to get to know each other and go through the program of our cycling week. We will also examine and test the cycling equipment, and rest after dinner

Day Two Velika Planina
  • Velika planina stretches along the edges of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, caught between the beautiful valley of Bistrica and Upper Savinja. The shepherds that have been herding on the mount for centuries had already known how magical this mountain haven is, far away from the urban hustle and bustle. The shepherd’s huts, which come to life when the thick snow cover melts away, lend the mount its special character. Soft and green meadows between the sinkholes and huts are a perfect spot for vistas and an idyllic polygon for cycling.

  • Highlights: Kamnik, Velika planina, the gorges of Kamniška Bistrica
  • Distance and elevation: 11,5 km, 630 m
Day Three Škofja Loka
  • Škofja Loka and the surrounding hills are the perfect place to create breath-taking memories. The town with a dynamic neighbourhood is quite close to Ljubljana, but at the same time seems very far. Its enchanting backdrop of the cultural heritage is inhabited with the medieval spirit, while many a story could be told by the colourful houses. The town is, however, just a springboard for exploring the nooks full of old traditions, kind people and culinary experiences of the Škofja Loka hills.

  • Highlights: Škofja Loka, Lubnik, Blegoš, Poljanska valley
  • Distance and elevation: 32 km, 1300 m
Day Four Pokljuka
  • Pokljuka is a plateau with a magnificent spruce forest smack in the middle of the Triglav National Park. Despite the thick forest, glorious views of the Julian Alps on one side and lakes Bled and Bohinj on the other open up on its mounts. Monumental woods hide thousands of stories and are a proper cycling heaven of high mountains. Many stories can be heard among the shepherds by a cup of milk and a slice of the Bohinj cheese.

  • Highlights: Bled, Lake Bled, Pokljuka, Zajamniki, Lake Bohinj.
  • Distance and elevation: 25,5 km, 750 m

Day Five Departure

The conclusion of the cycling vacation and a transfer to the airport.

I’m not a PRO cyclist. Can I join?

We use electric bikes on our tours to turn even the most difficult trips into an enjoyable journey for those with less stamina or technical skills. Plus, we adjust every tour to your skills and abilities.

What should I bring on a tour?

Most importantly, you should wear comfortable sports clothes. Please bring bottle of water and sun protection in summer months.

We provide all the cycling gear (bikes, helmets, service first aid, …). Any additional gear or clothes can be stored in a van.

Can we bring kids with us?

Kids are also welcome, as long as they can cycle independently and can ride for at least 20 kilometers. Please notify us about any children joining when you book a tour. That way we can adjust the difficulty of the tour to them.

What about the bad weather?

Unfortunately, the weather is not up to us, so even the good plans might be ruined due to bad weather. We’ll make sure the tours happen even in less ideal weather, but we need to put your safety first. In case your tour gets cancelled due to bad weather, we’ll fully reimburse you.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable sports clothes. You should also know some of the tours take place in the mountains where temperatures can change rapidly even during the summer. We suggest you bring warm clothes. You should also consider a waterproof jacket in case of bad weather.
