Although Slovenia is a small country in terms of proportions, it is naturally one of the most beautiful in Europe. There are many charming cities, natural beauties and sights there, so if you travel here it is definitely worth planning ahead, look at what you can find on the map.

From this excitement, therefore, we have collected seven useful Slovenian maps for quite a few possibilities. These include the Slovenian highway map, the Slovenian coast map and the Bled or Bohinj map.

Slovenia is located in Central Europe and borders four countries: Austria, Italy, Croatia and Hungary (Google Maps).

Slovenia is made up of the following 12 regions in ascending order of territory.

These 12 regions are divided into Eastern and Western Slovenia:

  • Western Slovenia: Central Slovenia, Upper Carniola, Gorizia, Coastal-Karst

#2 Terrain map of Slovenia

As you can see, Slovenia is typically hilly. This is mainly due to the fact that it is located in the southern foothills of the Alps.

Slovenia has a short coastline on the southwest coast of the Gulf of Trieste on the Adriatic Sea.

A1 (Slovenika)

  • Route: Sentilj (Austrian border) - Maribor - Celje - Ljubljana - Postojna, Razdrto - Divaca - Srmin (Port of Koper)

A2 (Ilirika)

  • Length: 171 km
  • Route: Karavanke main road (Austrian border) - Jesenice - Kranj - Ljubljana - Novo Mesto - Brezice - Obrezje (Croatian border)

A3 (Kras Highway)

  • Length: 12 km
  • Route: Gabrk / Divaca - Sezana - Fernetici (Italian border)

A4 (Podravska krak)

  • Length: 21 km
  • Route: Slivnica / Maribor - Hajdina / Ptuj - Drazenci - Podlehnik - Gruskovje (Croatian border)

A5 (Pomurski krak)

  • Length: 80 km
  • Route: Dragucova - Maribor (A1) - Murska Sobota - Lendava - Cellar (Hungarian border)

#4 Map of the Slovenian coast

The map above shows the four most visited towns on the Slovenian coast: Koper, Izola, Piran and Portoroz.

The following maps are ones of the Slovenian coast (Piran, Portoroz). Although they are in Slovenian language, and are incomplete, they can help you in terms of attractions.

#6 Map of Lake Bled

Although Lake Bled is one of the most famous places in Slovenia and many thousands of tourists visit it, unfortunately you cannot really find a really good tourist map anywhere.

Unfortunately, the following maps could not be downloaded in high resolution, but when printed, they can still be very useful if you are visiting Bohinj and its surroundings.
